House Passes Republican Bill To Make ‘Gulf Of America’ Name Change Permanent
The House has passed a GOP-backed bill to rename the “Gulf of Mexico” the “Gulf of America.”

Introduced by Rep. Ronny Jackson of Texas, the bill passed with a 228 to 189 vote. Supporters say it’s a move to promote American pride. However, critics say the entire ordeal is performative and ignores real issues.
