Meghan Markle Reacts To Delivery Room Dance Backlash: ‘You Have To Be Authentic’
Meghan Markle is standing by her “baby mama dance.”
The Duchess of Sussex addressed criticism she received after posting a four-year-old video of her dancing in the hospital while in labor. In the clip, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry danced around the delivery room as they prepared to welcome their baby girl, Princess Lilibet, who she mentioned in the caption had not yet arrived despite being a week after her due date.
“You have to be authentic,” she told “Aspire” podcast host and entrepreneur Emma Grede before asking of the candid moment, “Did you see my baby mama dance?”
She added:
“That was four years ago. So it’s also a really great reminder that, with all the noise or whatever people do, there’s still a whole life. A real, authentic, fun life that’s happening behind the scenes.”
“I’m just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms.”
