Nicki Minaj Accuses Jay-Z & Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez Of Political Opportunism + Questions Ties To Trump & Democrats: ‘Is It Just About Who Can Benefit Him & Desirat?’
Nicki Minaj set off social media fireworks this week after posting a provocative statement questioning the political alliances and motivations of Jay-Z and his Roc Nation CEO, Desiree Perez.
“So lemme get this straight. Yall so called black savior #JayZ has a Hispanic CEO who was pardoned by President Trump?!!!!?!?! Hmmmmm interesting,” she wrote on social media, referencing Perez’s 2021 federal pardon granted by then-President Donald Trump.
Minaj didn’t stop there—she sharply questioned Jay-Z’s silence during key Democratic campaigns.
“Did JayZ ever campaign for Kamala????… When President Obama gave the speech about ‘brothers’ why didn’t Jigga man come out & strongly campaign for the democratic party @ that time?????? Could it be that yall have all been hoodwinked?”
The rapper appeared to accuse both Jay-Z and Perez—whom she refers to as “Desirat”—of political opportunism.
“Is it just about who can benefit him & Desirat at the time???? Oh black ppl it looks like the Jigga man & Desirat played yall once again. LMFAO. The jig is up.”
Minaj’s post arrives amid renewed online scrutiny of Roc Nation’s political dealings and Perez’s past legal troubles. Her comments have divided fans—some calling it bold truth-telling, others labeling it divisive.
Neither Jay-Z nor Roc Nation has publicly responded to Minaj’s remarks.
