Diddy Could Get 6 To 8 Years In Prison As Prosecutors Argue Federal Rule That Prohibits Acquitted Conduct
Diddy may have been acquitted of some charges, but prosecutors still want him behind bars for up to 8 years.
According to court reporter Meghann Cuniff, the government initially recommended a sentence of 51–63 months, but “the details indicate 6–8 years.”
Cuniff said prosecutors
“appear ready for a novel argument under a recent federal guidelines amendment that prohibits acquitted conduct from being considered at sentencing.”
She added,
“The guidelines were amended in November to prohibit acquitted conduct from being factored into a sentencing range, but prosecutors say Diddy’s trafficking and transportation charges overlap in evidence enough that they can seek more time in prison for fraud and coercion.”
Diddy was recently acquitted of s*x trafficking and racketeering charges but was convicted on two counts related to pro$titution. His sentencing is scheduled for October 3.
