McDonald’s Employee Accused Of Fatally Stabbing Manager Ordered To Undergo Mental Health Evaluation
A stabbing case has been put on hold for a mental health evaluation.
26-year-old Afeni Muhammad, who was charged with first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing her manager to death at a McDonald’s in Eastpointe, Michigan, has been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation before the case can proceed.
During a recent court hearing, Muhammad’s attorney requested the evaluation, citing “interactions with her” and details from the police report. The judge granted the request over Muhammad’s objections. A follow-up hearing is scheduled for September 3 at 1 p.m.

According to police, the stabbing occurred on July 10 after Muhammad was dismissed from her shift by her manager, Jennifer Harris. She allegedly returned wearing a mask and armed with a kitchen knife, then stabbed Harris multiple times. Harris later died from her injuries at the hospital.
Muhammad was reportedly stopped by a customer while trying to flee and was detained until police arrived. She was later charged with first-degree murder and carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent.
TJB sends our condolences to the family of Jennifer Harris.
