S*x Toy Thrown On Court During WNBA Game For The Third Time
A s*x toy was thrown on the court during the Los Angeles Sparks game against the Indiana Fever on Tuesday night (Aug. 4), marking the third time the racy object has been tossed onto the court during a WNBA game.
In the latest incident, Sparks guard Kelsey Plum had just finished free throws in the third quarter, when the item was thrown on the court, seemingly hitting Fever’s Sophie Cunningham, who was clearly taken aback by the action.
Plum kicked it away and game officials quickly covered it with a towel. Security also jolted up the bleachers in an attempt to find out who the culprit was.
The first time this happened was during Atlanta Dream’s home game against Golden State Valkyries on July 29, and then again in Chicago as the Sky played the Valkyries on Aug. 1.
Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell said after Tuesday’s game:
“We don’t know who those people are. We are the product. We like to think that we come to play the game and people want to see us play. I think it’s just that simple, man, we can’t control everybody’s actions. To the person or people who think, you know, it’s cool, that’s up to you, to the higher power, I don’t think you’re praying for it. But for us, we keep the main thing the main thing, I think it’s about the basketball for both teams.”
