Meek Mill Claps Back At Critics Of 21 Savage’s ‘F**k The Streets’ Movement: ‘They Not Saying F**k The People’
Meek Mill is pushing back against critics of 21 Savage’s new “F**k the Streets” movement, clarifying that the message is about growth, not abandoning people.
In a series of tweets, Meek addressed the mindset behind the phrase, explaining that street culture was never meant to be a lifelong destination.
“The street never superseded success because too much hatred and failure in the streets,” he wrote. According to Meek, success creates protection — not separation — allowing people to remove loved ones from dangerous environments while still giving back and helping others.
He also pushed back on claims that the phrase dismisses those still living in street conditions.
“They not saying f**k the people… y’all know they mean the mentality!” Meek emphasized, drawing a clear distinction between rejecting destructive cycles and rejecting individuals.
In a follow-up tweet, Meek pointed to what he sees as a deeper issue: resistance to progress.
“It’s always a few people that wanna keep street hatred going,” he wrote, adding that some prefer collective struggle over seeing others evolve. He stressed that street life isn’t the only option, calling it “all we knew — not all we know.”
Meek’s comments arrive amid ongoing debates in hip-hop about the authenticity of 21’s movement.
Is it really F* the streets or is it all a facade?
