Mathew Knowles Says Daughter Beyoncé Never Chased Money, Even After Becoming A Billionaire
Beyoncé may have officially entered billionaire territory, but according to her father, Mathew Knowles, money has never been her motivation.
After Forbes listed the global superstar among the world’s wealthiest musicians at the end of 2025, Knowles told Page Six that wealth was never a driving force in his daughter’s career.
“I’ve never heard Beyoncé ever talk about money… It’s always been, ‘How can I make my fans happy? How can I be the best at what I’m doing?’” he said.
Knowles added, “Her money came with the success, but that has never been a goal of hers. And I love that about her.”
Beyoncé joins Jay-Z, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen in the elite billionaire club, thanks to blockbuster tours and a growing business empire that includes SirDavis whisky and Cécred haircare.
Still, Knowles insists her priorities remain unchanged. “That’s just not Beyoncé. That’s not who she is,” he said. “She’s motivated by being the very best… and giving back to the community as well.”
The music executive is currently touring a Destiny’s Child tribute show honoring the legendary group.
