End Of Fugees Feud: Pras Michel Drops Fraud Lawsuit Against Lauryn Hill As 14-Year Prison Sentence Nears
Fugees rapper #PrasMichel has dropped his fraud lawsuit against bandmate #LaurynHill, bringing an end to their recent legal battle tied to the group’s troubled reunion plans. According to court filings obtained by Billboard, Pras voluntarily dismissed the case on March 11. The lawsuit, originally filed in 2024, accused Hill of fraud, breach of contract and other claims connected to the handling of the Fugees’ reunion tour and its finances.
In the complaint, Pras alleged Hill secretly took a large share of tour proceeds and mishandled the tour’s setup, marketing and budgeting. He also claimed her actions damaged #Fugees’ brand and contributed to the collapse of the tour plans. Hill previously denied the allegations, calling the case “baseless” and saying the lawsuit was “full of false claims and unwarranted attacks.”
The dismissal was filed “without prejudice,” meaning Pras could technically refile the case in the future. The move comes as he faces major legal issues of his own, including a 14-year prison sentence tied to a separate conviction for illegal foreign lobbying and political conspiracy. While Pras is scheduled to begin his sentence later this month, he has appealed the verdict and requested to remain free pending the outcome. A judge has not yet ruled on his request.
