[UPDATE] CANCELLED: Openly Gay Drafted NFL’er, Michael Sam, Lands New OWN Reality Show
There are more reality TV/docu-series style shows enroute to OWN. Oprah Winfrey’s network has ordered a new docuseries featuring Michael Sam, the highly discussed gay football player who was just drafted by the NFL’s St. Louis Rams.
Reportedly, the show will follow him as he prepares to earn a spot on the Rams.
Craig Piligian and director Amy Rice, who were behind Lindsay Lohan‘s Lindsay, will produce the untitled project.
Over the weekend, Sam was chosen by the Rams with the 249th overall pick of the NFL Draft and ESPN televised an emotional Sam kissing his boyfriend right after the announcement. The photo and footage sparked controversy, with mixed reactions.
