(EXCLUSIVE) Russell Simmons Denies Stealing Photographer’s Work, Wants Lawsuit Dismissed
theJasmineBRAND.com has exclusively learned that Russell Simmons is firing back at allegations he illegally posted a photo of rapper Rick Ross on his website Global Grind and is demanding a photographer lawsuit against him be dismissed.
As previously reported, a photographer named Armen Djerrahian filed a federal lawsuit against Russell Simmons and Global Grind.
He explains that he is a successful photographer who works with hip hop artists from Jay-Z, 50 Cent to Kanye West. His photos have appeared on XXL, Vibe and many other outlets. He also has directed many music videos and commercials for hip hop artists.
The photographer explained that in 2010, he shot rapper Rick Ross for XXL magazine. The images show the rapper holding his hand in the shape of a gun to his head. He says that he had the image copyrighted and it is well known in the
