Kendrick Lamar Wants New Album To Make You Feel Angry, Happy, Disgusted & Uncomfortable
Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar (real name Kendrick Lamar Duckworth) released his sophomore album this week and it’s already breaking records on the Internet. Spotify announced Tuesday the 27-year-old emcee received 9.6 million streams the first day “To Pimp A Butterfly” became available on its site, breaking the record for the most streams in one day.
Yet, Lamar has made it clear he has no worries about how much he makes from this album. His focus is on how many hearts he touches, instead. In an interview with New York Times, he opens up about how he has dealt with success; how his new project correlates with his 2012 debut album, “good kid, m.A.A.d. city” and how he has grown mentally and spiritually through his industry experiences.
