David Banner Sues Lil Wayne’s Young Money + Ja Rule Slams Media ‘F**k You!’
The lawsuits seem to be endless over in the Young Money and Cash Money camp. As you know,
Lil Wayne is currently suing Birdman and Cash Money Records for $51 million, claiming he’s owed money for his never-released album, “Tha Carter V.”
And rumor has it that David Banner (real name Lavell William Crump) is lawyering up — literally — demanding that he be properly compensated for his music.
Reportedly, the 41-year-old rapper claims that in 2008, he signed a contract with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Records. In the contract, he was to produce two songs for Wayne — “La La” and “P*ssy Monster”, both of which were featured on “Tha Carter III.”
So what’s the issue?
Banner claims Young Money told him in 2012 he was owed $138,787.19 in royalties, but says that he was never paid.
In fact, Banner states that this isn’t the first time. He claims that in 2009 the same thing happened with the track, “Streets Is Watchin”. He claims he was told he’s owed more than $15,392.57. [TMZ]
