Tyler Perry’s ‘A Madea Halloween’ Tops Box Office
Congrats to Tyler Perry! Over the weekend, his new film“Boo! A Madea Halloween” won at the box office, beating out Tom Cruise’s “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back” who snagged second. According to studio estimates on Sunday, Tyler’s film opened in the top spot with an estimated $27.6 million.
It’s the third best opening for a “Madea” movie, behind “Madea Goes to Jail” and “Madea’s Family Reunion”. The film reportedly cost $20 million to produce.
In limited release, the new coming-of-age drama “Moonlight” made $414,740 and many sell-out showings. We hear that their is a chance that Moonlight may be nominated for an Oscar. Check out the domestic figures as of Sunday.
