(EXCLUSIVE) DJ Envy – Judge Dismisses DJ Star’s $10 Million Lawsuit
DJ Envy – Judge Dismisses DJ Star’s Lawsuit
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, The Breakfast Club host DJ Envy can breathe a little easier. The $10 million dollar lawsuit accusing him of conspiring with rapper The Game to defame another DJ on air has been dismissed, with a judge throwing out the entire lawsuit.
Here’s the latest: On November 14th, the Federal Court judge came back with his decision and granted Envy’s motion and threw out the entire case and awarded DJ Star nothing from his complaint. The order explains all claims against the Breakfast Club host are dismissed along with iHeartMedia.
Here’s the backstory: Earlier this year, DJ Star – real name Troi Torain – filed a $10 million dollar lawsuit against The Game & The Breakfast Club radio show.
He accused The Game of defaming him and threatening him during a interview on the radio show. During the sit down, the rapper said he would break Star’s jaw over a beef DJ Envy – who is one of the hosts of The Breakfast Club – has had with Star for years. He demanded $10 million in damages for the comments the rapper made.
DJ Star then allegedly filed a police report with the NYPD against The Game. Then following his suit against the rapper, the DJ slapped DJ Envy & iHeart Media and Revolt Media (the companies behind the hit radio show) with a suit.
The suit explained that The Game made false, derogatory and physically threatening statements on the show and was initiated and encouraged by DJ Envy.
He says the duo used his name for the purpose of advertising and without his consent. The DJ accused the radio show of invading his privacy and due to the comments made on the broadcast he has suffered emotional distress, mental anguish and embarrassment.
DJ Star filed suit for gross negligence and demanded $10 million dollars from Envy and the companies behind The Breakfast Club.
DJ Envy and iHeart Media responded, explaining that DJ Star’s name was never mentioned during their interview with The Game. The only time it was spoken, it was bleeped out before it went to air. The Breakfast Club host and show execs demanded the entire $10 million dollar lawsuit be thrown out.
