EXCLUSIVE: ‘Basketball Wives’ Production Company Fired
theJasmineBRAND exclusively reports, there’s been some alleged behind-the-scenes changes within the hit series Basketball Wives. Sources tell us that the production company behind the hit series, Shed Media, has allegedly been given the axe.
Shed Media, a Warner Brothers Entertainment Company, is a division of Warner Bros. Unscripted and Alternative Television. Some of the series they produce include “First Dates” and “Genius Junior” for NBC; “Warriors of Liberty City” for Starz; “Criminal Confessions” for Oxygen; “Glam Masters” for Lifetime; and “The Real Housewives of New York City” for Bravo. Sources are unclear as to why Shed was allegedly fired, but the cast is well aware of the shake-up.
“I’m not sure how this will affect next season”.
Basketball Wives premiered April 11, 2010 on VH1.
It chronicles the lives of a group of women who are the wives and girlfriends, or have been romantically linked to, professional basketball players in the NBA, though the title of the series does not make this differentiation, solely referring to the women as “wives”.
For the first five seasons, the show was filmed in Miami, Florida, and beginning with season four, partially in New York City.
Basketball Wives spawned a Los Angeles-based spinoff, Basketball Wives LA, which premiered in 2011.
