Vogue Magazine Apologizes For Portraying Kendall Jenner In An Afro
Over the weekend, Vogue Magazine posted a photo of Kendall Jenner donning a curly, teased out hairdo reminiscent to an afro. The new look was met with criticism, as many people suggested that the look was bordering on cultural appropriation.

The images were taken in London by photographer Mikael Jansson and appear in Vogue’s November issue. After the backlash from the shoot, Vogue swiftly apologized, saying that they were going for an “Edwardian/Gibson Girl” look.
The image is meant to be an update of the romantic Edwardian/Gibson Girl hair which suits the period feel of the Brock Collection, and also the big hair of the ’60s and the early ’70s, that puffed-out, teased-out look of those eras. We apologize if it came across differently than intended, and we certainly did not mean to offend anyone by it.
