Nicki Minaj met her latest boyfriend, Kenneth ‘Zoo’ Petty, years ago. In fact, they’ve known each other since she was a teen. Reportedly, they dated when she lived in Queens, NY, when she was 16. And while their teenage love didn’t last, they’ve since reconnected and appear to be in a relationship. The pair are currently celebrating Nicki’s 36th birthday with a tropical vacation.

However, Nicki’s new man has a checkered past. As previously reported, Petty, 40, is being labeled as a rapist for a 1995 conviction, which forced him to register as a Level 2 sex offender in the state of New York. Minaj’s new boyfriend was charged with attempted rape, a crime which was committed in 1994 on a 16-year-old girl. He served 18 to 54 months in prison and was found guilty in April 1995.

Minaj recently defended him on social media.
