Meek Mill’s Grandmother Target of Racism
2018 has been the year of Meek Mill. The music industry has rallied behind him, with many believing he was wrongfully jailed for violating his probation by popping a wheelie. He’s even dropped new music, with his “Championships” album climbing the charts. But there’s one thing Meek Mill can’t conquer with his celebrity: racism. The Philadelphia native took to Twitter to reveal his grandmother’s home was targeted and vandalized because of the color of her skin. He attached security camera footage of a man spray-painting the side of her home. Meek tweeted:
“A white man sprayed a racial remarks on my Grandmom’s house last night in south philly referencing white Privileged…. the crazy part is this was a all black neighborhood 20 years ago It was gentrified and now this! Just don’t let us catch you coward!”

This is the last thing Meek needs considering his pending legal issues. He recently recounted the horrors of probation:
“It’s a dark shadow over the top of your head on a daily basis. Probation is like, they say, to help rehabilitate you and help you better yourself coming out of prison. In my mind, I never felt like I was fucked up. [It’s a] trap door that’s gonna keep you in and out of the system. You don’t even have to commit a crime to go back to prison.”
Stay out of trouble, Meek!
