JoJo Re-Releases Debut & Sophomore Albums
JoJo has re-released her debut and sophomore albums following a prolonged battle she had with her former label Blackground Records. In addition to the 2018 efforts, the songwriter also released two updated tracks to 2011’s “Disaster” and 2012’s “Demonstrate.”
For the new album(s) – 2004’s self-titled “JoJo” and 2006’s “The High Road–” the singer alters arrangements and re-recorded the vocals – including the singles.
Blackground, who’ve distributed music for artists like R. Kelly, Aaliyah, Timbaland, and Toni Braxton took the “Leave (Get Out)” singer’s first two albums off streaming platforms/retailers in 2017. The singer tweeted about the inconvenience when it happened,
My former label removed my music. I unfortunately have absolutely no control over what they do or don’t do.

The singer shared the news via a collage image over her Instagram feed. She captioned each post,
Love, Jo.
