Nike Officially Ends Deal With Antonio Brown
Nike Officially Cuts Deal w/ Patriots’ WR Antonio Brown Amidst More Criminal Charges
NFL wide receiver, Antonio Brown has continued to face backlash in the aftermath of his former trainer filing a civil suit for sexual harassment. Since his accuser came forward earlier this month, more issues for Brown have arisen which as of Wednesday (Sept. 18th), the newly signed New England Patriots has been released from his deal with Nike, according to reports. A spokesperson for Nike said,
“Antonio Brown is not a Nike athlete.”
As Nike moves on from their relationship with the decorated receiver, the apparel giant gave no information as to the reason behind their decision to cut ties with Brown.
“Asked multiple times to elaborate on the reason for the decision and clarify its timing, the spokesperson declined.”
On Thursday (Sept. 19th), another woman has come forward against the receiver claiming Brown allegedly was involved in a January 2019 domestic dispute with the mother of one of his five children. In the altercation, Brown allegedly pushed his baby mother out of his home causing some scarring.
In less than a month, more than five claims against the Patriots receiver have been reported since signing his 1-year/$15 million deal in early September. As previously reported, Brown is being sued by a Pittsburgh doctor, Dr. Victor Prisk. In his claim, Dr. Prisk alleges not only does Brown owe him thousands of dollars in unpaid bills, he went as far as to claim the receiver repeatedly farted in his face during an appointment. Dr. Prisk told Sports Illustrated:
“It seemed just childish to me. I’m a doctor and this man is farting in my face.”
Brown responded to his former doctor’s claims with a screenshot of an alleged text conversation with the doctor. In the photo, Dr. Prisk seemingly joked about Antonio’s passing gas. Their conversation read:
“Dr. Victor Prisk: According to TMZ, I have a nose of Steel! (laughing emojis)
Antonio Brown: (laughing emojis) dam doc seeing u and we go viral I got to come more baby now we locked in!!
The conversation continues,
Dr. Prisk: (sick emoji, laughing emojis)
Antonio: Sorry doc meant so much u treating me like family I really appreciate u much ! We making tmz icing on the cake
Dr. Prisk: In deed! Funny as sh*t, i was pretty stoic…How ya feelin?”
As of Monday (Sept 16th), two dozen people including former employees who have worked closely with the receiver, have been interviewed and are planning to take possible legal action against the NFL star.
Brown’s first accuser, Brittney Taylor filed a lawsuit against Him in the Southern District of Florida Tuesday (Sept. 10). In the court documents, Taylor alleges that Brown assaulted her on three different occasions. Two allegedly occurred in June 2017. Taylor said that’s when Brown allegedly exposed himself and then kissed her without her permission.
