Kodak Black’s Mother Says ‘If They Kill My Son In Jail, I’m Going To Kill Myself Too’ + Hires Civil Rights Attorney Benjamin Crump To Sue Prison
The mother of incarcerated rapper Kodak Black fears for her son’s life, and she said she’s willing to take her own life if something happens to him behind bars.
Marcelene Simmons tapped a high-profile lawyer to help her son, according to WSVN. She was alarmed, along with her son’s fans, at the news of his alleged mistreatment while in prison. Just last week the rapper took to Instagram, alleging that law enforcement inside the facility were plotting against him:
“Lieutenant F. Arroyo has been very vindictive towards me and I have a strong feeling it has something to do with me being set up, laced, bruised and brutally beaten two weeks before my court date…There is a big conspiracy going on in this building. Me. Santiago Torres is using her position wrongfully in Miami FDC and is abusing her authority. She has been writing falsified incident reports on me, to take phone privileges that I get once a week while in solitary…My family hasn’t received none of my letters for the holidays…I was handed an empty tray for breakfast. I brought it to their attention, but nothing was done for me…They are strategically killing me slowly in here.”
This is exactly what Marcelene Simmons is afraid of. She’s hired Benjamin Crump, the lawyer who represented Trayvon Martin‘s family , to sue her son’s prison facility. In fact, Benjamin Crump said during a press conference that right before their scheduled welfare check on Kodak, he was immediately moved to Kentucky.
“We know something happened in that prison. Literally, only hours before we meet with him, they put him on a bus to Kentucky. We believe they intentionally moved him, so he couldn’t meet with his attorneys. She wants to make sure that while he’s in their custody, that he doesn’t end up dead, so she is very concerned as well as all of her family that these allegations are to be taken seriously.”
Marcelene Simmons gave this haunting quote:
“I want to make sure my son is OK. I want to make sure they don’t kill my son. If they kill my son, if my son dies, I’m going to kill myself too. My son, after God, my son is life to me. My son is everything for me. Please! Please! I need help!”
Kodak Black is currently serving a four-year sentence on weapons charges.
