Cyntoia Brown Blasts Netflix: I Had NOTHING To Do With This Documentary! [VIDEO]
Cyntoia Brown-Long appears to be just as shocked as the rest of the world, after learning Netflix plans to release a documentary surrounding her time in prison, without involving Cyntoia Brown-Long herself in the process. As you may remember, Cyntoia Brown-Long, once a victim of child sex-trafficking, was sentenced to life-in-prison at the age of 16 for killing a man she feared was going to harm her. The documentary, Murder to Mercy: The Cyntoia Brown Story, is set to feature Cyntoia Brown sentencing, Brown’s past, her mental state, and system that deemed Brown as a murderer.
Today (April 15th), Netflix released the trailer.
After watching the trailer, Brown shared her thoughts, via Instagram, on the film and not being included.
She says,
While I was still incarcerated, a producer who has old footage of me made a deal with Netflix for an UNAUTHORIZED documentary, set to be released soon. My husband and I were as surprised as everyone else when we first heard the news because we did not participate in any way.
She continued:
However, I am currently in the process of sharing my story, in the right way, in full detail, and in a way that depicts and respects the woman I am today. While I pray that this film highlights things wrong in our justice system, I had nothing to do with this documentary.

Now, as a free woman, Brown is simply enjoying life. In 2019, she released her memoir titled: “Free Cyntoia: My Search for Redemption in the American Prison System.” Brown is also happily married to Christian rapper Jamie “J.Long” Long. According to reports the couple tied the knot while Brown was still incarcerated.

Jamie Long, Cyntoia Brown
It has always been smooth sailing for the two since debuting their union, as we’ve previous reported the couples ongoing feud with naysayers like Jamie Long’s ex-wife, former Pam Long, former member of 90’s R&B Group Total.
As of late, Brown has been relatively keeping a low-profile on social media, outside of her Netflix post.
