Female rap has taken over Billboard Hot 100 charts. For the first time in their careers, rappers Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj occupy the top spot with Doja’s hit single “Say So Remix”, featuring the fellow rapper Nicki Minaj. The remix made the impressive leap from number 6 to number 1 in just a matter of one week. The record has now become the 1,100th No. 1 in the Hot 100’s history.

Nicki Minaj shattered her record for the “longest wait for a first Hot 100 No. 1”. The “Say So Remix” was her 109th entry on the chart.
To add to the celebration of the rise of female rap unity, fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion occupies the number two spot on Billboard Hot 100 with her remix to her song “Savage” featuring Beyoncé. This is now the first time that 4 Black women have dominated the top two spots on the coveted chart. The “Savage Remix” was number 4 last week. Fans across the country have reacted to the news that four women are at the top of the charts on Billboard.
