SZA Says She Was Mistaken For A ‘Rioter’ While Trying To Buy Dog Food: A Random A** Man Tried To Remove Me

R&B singer SZA (real name Solána Imani Rowe) found herself caught up in the protesting/looting activity.

Many rioters have taken over major cities amid protests over the death of George Floyd.

And one grocery store worker reportedly thought SZA was on of the looters. The 29-year-old “All The Stars” singer was allegedly asked to leave a store as she shopped for dog food.

She shared the experience on Twitter and wrote,

“I’ve had the WEIRDESSST EXPERIENCES TODAY. Another random a** man tried to remove me from a plaza in Palisades while attempting to buy dog food for fear I was a “rioter.” LOL He asked the grocery employee if he was “ok” after watching him speak w me then told me to leave”

No further details have been shared about the incident, but specific cities are now witnessing earlier curfews taking place.

SZA has allegedly been a victim of profiling before. This time last year, she said she was accused of stealing in a Sephora store in Calabasas, Calif.

A Caucasian employee reportedly called security on the singer/songwriter to make sure that she wasn’t stealing. Once SZA sent the tweet out about “Sandy Sephora,” several celebrities and supporters quickly came to her side.

The end result?

Sephora stores were shut down as they forced all of their employees to attend a “diversity and inclusivity workshop.”
