Keke Palmer Asks National Guard Soldiers To ‘March With Us’ During L.A. Protest

Actress/talk show co-host Keke Palmer is making sure her voice is heard following the unfortunate death of George Floyd by the hands of a Minneapolis police officer. Video has surfaced online of Keke Palmer engaging in a conversation with National Guard soldiers on Tuesday (June 3rd) during the L.A. protest for racial injustice.  In the video, the Hustlers actress appears to be speaking to the soldiers over a tweet that President Trump sent out stating that 

“when the looting starts the shooting starts.”

Keke Palmer passionately says” 

“You have a president talking about the Second Amendment as a use for people to come out here and use firearms against the people protesting. This is the message that we’re seeing. You have to pay attention to what’s going on. We have a president that’s trying to incite a race war, and when the borders are closed. We can’t leave. You have people in here that need your help. This is when you and y’all can stand together with the community, with society, to stop the governmental oppression. Period. We need you.” 

You can hear one of the soldier’s say,

“I agree” 

Keke Palmer then continues her plea with them.

“March with us. March beside us. Get your people. March beside us. Let the revolution be televised. March beside us and show us that you’re here for us. Make history with us, please. Let’s just do it. We start marching and you march with us. Please.”

The crowd around Keke Palmer and the National Guard soldiers can be heard chanting 

“March with us!”

One of the National Gaurd soldiers then explains to Keke Palmer that they can’t march the entire route with the protesters because they’re unable to leave their designated post. After Keke Palmer and the soldier seem to go back and forth over the soldiers marching with the protesters, someone off-camera cuts in the conversation and asks the soldiers to take a knee instead.  It appears that 3 of the soldiers do.

However, Keke Palmer seems unimpressed with their actions and says

“That ain’t enough for me.”

Following the posting of the video, Keke Palmer was trending on Twitter and many people offered their opinion of the actress attempting to get the guards to march with her.
