Colin Kaepernick Lands Snapchat Docuseries About His Protests Against Racial Inequality

Colin Kaepernick is still unemployed by the NFL, but social media app Snapchat has found him worthy to be the focus of the third season of Snap Originals, under the Complex Media series called “VS The World.”

The first season of the series featured Tekaski 6ix9ine and his jail journey, and his case against the Nine Trey Bloods gang in New York City.  Another season was on MMA fighter Conor McGregor and the road to his fights against Floyd Mayweather and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The Snapchat platform, which produces nearly 4 billion “snaps” daily, has also released 100 original shows on the app.

Snap’s original content chief Sean Mills said,

“We get a pulse on what issues our audience cares about and also what talent and what voices resonate with them.”

The app has also brought on some of your favorite artists for new Snap Originals including, Swae Lee, Trippie Redd, and Jaden Smith.

This isn’t the only docuseries Colin Kaepernick will be the subject of soon. It was previously reported that he’s working with famed director Ava DuVernay on a Netflix docuseries about his teenage years.

She tweeted amid announcing the news:

“This project has been a joy to work on for the last year with @StarrburyMike.  I’ve long been fascinated by how folks become who they are.  The steps we all take to get to ourselves.  When it comes to @Kaepernick7, that story tracks the making of a singular American icon.  #imwithkap”
