Original Story: This week, Cleveland Browns NFL player Odell Beckham, Jr. was sent home with an illness, says Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski. According to NFL network reporter, Aditi Kinkhabwala’s tweet, Stefanski says
“He’s just feeling under the weather.”
The tweet also mentioned that Odell’s COVID test won’t be available until Oct. 16.

In August Odell Beckham, Jr. stated that he was ready for the 2020 NFL season to “not happen” amid the growing COVID-19 pandemic. He said,
“That’s how I feel. Obviously, with everything that’s going on, it doesn’t make sense why we’re trying to do this. I can understand basketball was already in the playoffs. Five-on-five basketball in an arena is going to be more intense than regular-season games. Hooping is different than playing an 11-on-11 contact sport where there’s 80 people in a locker room. We’re not ready for football season.”
He further expressed,
“So why are we trying to push forward? It’s obviously for their money. And that bothers me because there’s always been this — and I hate saying it like that — but the owners’ [attitude is], ‘Oh we own you guys,’ and just kind of that unfairness going on that they don’t see us as human. I just feel like the season shouldn’t happen and I’m prepared for it to not happen and I wouldn’t mind not having it.”

Beckham and other players like Russell Wilson, also expressed their concerns about resuming the season, questioning the preparedness of the NFL among the pandemic.

Recently (Oct. 3), New England Patriots quarterback, Cam Newton reportedly tested positive for COVID-19. A tweet sent out by ESPN Senior NFL insider, Adam Schefter, announced the news via Twitter.

The Patriots released a statement on social media, initially not naming the player who tested positive.
“Late last night, we received notice that a Patriots player tested positive for COVID-19. The player immediately entered self-quarantine. Several additional players, coaches and staff who have been in close contact with the player received point of care tests this morning and all were negative for COVID-19.”
Should the NFL alter their remaining schedule? Let us know in the comments.
