Larry King Out Of ICU Amid COVID-19 Battle

Update #2 (Jan. 4th): Larry King’s road to recovery continues as he fights the coronavirus. He is now out of ICU at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He has been in the hospital for more than 10 days after getting COVID-19. He reportedly believes he contracted the virus from a health care staffer who was at his home. One of his sons has also tested positive.

Original Story (Jan. 3rd): Legendary T.V./Radio host, Larry King has been hospitalized in Los Angeles for Covid-19. Reports surfaced on Saturday (Jan.2) that the 87-year-old ‘Larry King Live’ host is battling Covid-19 and has been hospitalized at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for more than a week. Larry King is currently in isolation and has been unable to have visitors, including his two sons, Cannon and Chance King as well as his ex-wife, Shawn King– whom he filed for divorce from in 2019.

Larry King has suffered from a string of medical issues throughout the years. In May 2019, King suffered a near-fatal stroke just weeks after he had heart surgery. He also survived a heart attack as well as prostate and lung cancer. In August 2020, Larry King tragically lost his son, Andy King, 65, to a heart attack and his daughter Chaia King, 51, to lung cancer. Both children died within 23 days of each other. Larry King spoke out after the tragic loss of his children. In a Facebook post, he wrote:

“It is with sadness and a father’s broken heart that I confirm the recent loss of two of my children, Andy King, and Chaia King. Both of them were good and kind souls and they will be greatly missed. Andy passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on July 28th, and Chaia passed on August 20th, only a short time after having been diagnosed with lung cancer.”

He continued,

“Losing them feels so out of order. No parent should have to bury a child. My family and I thank you for your outpouring of kind sentiments and well wishes. In this moment, we need a little time and privacy to heal. I thank you for respecting that.”

Larry King is a true Television icon. He burst into the spotlight as the host of the radio program The Larry King Show which ran from 1978 to 1994. He later hosted Larry King Live on CNN from 1985 to 2010.
