At the match, Floyd Mayweather boxed Logan Paul for eight rounds. According toĀ The New York Times, the answer to this question isn’t as clear as one may think. Typically, matches’ financial figures are made public by the sanctioning commission. However, as this meet-up was only an exhibition match, no official figures have been released. Additionally, neither Mayweather nor Logan have officially revealed how much they’re contracted to earn from the match. Despite this, it’s worth noting that Floyd Mayweather previously claimed he could make more than $100 million from the fight, while Logan Paul stated he could make $20 million.
However, for Mayweather and Logan to make a combined $120 million in pay-per-view revenue, The New York Times claims almost 5 million people would have to purchase the fight. Additionally, the publicationĀ points out that a source-less website claimedĀ Floyd Mayweather was guaranteed $10 million and 50% of the pay-per-view earnings, while Logan Paul was guaranteed $250,000 and 10% of pay-per-view purchases. However, as no official sources are cited to back these claims up, there appears to be little-to-no validity in these statements.
Despite the mystery surrounding how much Mayweather and LoganĀ made from yesterday’s exhibition, the former recently hinted at his prospective earnings. As fight-day approached, Floyd Mayweather claimed:
“This is legalized bank robbery. It’s a not a real fight for me, it’s a real fight for him. It’s entertainment.”
