‘Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)’ Rapper Silentó Indicted On Charges Of Murdering His Cousin, Still Being Held Without Bond
Silentó‘s legal troubles are continuing to grow in severity.
Silentó was indicted on charges of murdering his cousin in Georgia, TMZ reported today (Monday, Aug. 16th). The rapper–most known for his 2015 hit “Watch Me (Whip/ Nae Nae)”–was reportedly indicted on four charges: malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and gun possession.
Silentó (real name Richard Hawk) was apprehended back in early February for allegedly murdering his cousin–34-year-old Fredrick Brooks–in DeKalb County, Georgia. The rapper was 23 years old at the time of his arrest.

A few months later, Silentó was denied bond. The judge overseeing the case denied the rapper’s request due to concerns over his mental health. Silentó, who is bipolar, allegedly has a history of not taking his medication. He also reportedly left a mental health center in California, and the prosecution claimed his grandparents were against him being released. Resultingly, the judge ruled that Silentó could be a risk to the public and subsequently denied his bond request.
It is unclear when Silentó is due back in court. He is still being held without bond.
Being charged with murdering his cousin is Silentó‘s latest legal issue. Last year, the rapper was arrested for domestic violence, and he was arrested again the very next day for walking into a random home with a hatchet. Then, a couple of months later, Silentó was apprehended for reckless driving.
