Jeannie Mai Confirms She & Jeezy Are Expecting A Child Together

Congratulations are in order for Jeannie Mai and Jeezy!

Earlier today (Monday, Sept. 20th), Jeannie Mai confirmed she’s pregnant! She shared the news while co-hosting The Real, and she is welcoming the baby with Jeezy (real name Jay Wayne Jenkins)–whom she married back in March.

Regarding her reveal, Jeannie Mai stated:

“Jeezy and I have been kind of saving this and hiding this for five months. So, we’re relieved to finally share the news.”

She then proceeded to share various details of her pregnancy journey, saying “It was not easy.” Jeannie revealed she and Jeezy initially made the decision to pursue IVF (in-vitro fertilization) about a year ago, claiming:

“We both needed a bit of assistance, especially with me being 41 at the time.”

Then, about a month before the pair got married, Jeannie Mai discovered she was pregnant. However, she suffered a miscarriage shortly thereafter and was left feeling guilty:

“I wondered if I was being punished. I wondered if I’d jinxed myself or cursed myself. My entire life, I never wanted children. When I say never, I’m talking a hard-stop never. [But] falling in love with Jeezy made me see life differently for myself. Our love is honest, pure, and safe… something I hadn’t felt as a child.”

Despite the hardship, Jeannie Mai discovered she was pregnant once again about a week after her wedding. She recalled:

“It was the most beautiful sign that anything’s possible, that you’re not in control, and God has a plan.”

This baby is Jeannie‘s first child and Jeezy‘s fourth. Jeannie Mai revealed that, since she’s a new mother, she’s still preparing for what to anticipate:

“Being a mom is hands down the hardest role in the entire world. Now that we’re bringing another Jenkins into the picture, I have no idea what to expect.”

Despite her nervousness, Jeezy‘s supportiveness is helping Jeannie through her uncertainty:

“He’s an amazing dad, [and it] overwhelms me with even more love.”

Jeannie‘s pregnancy confirmation comes on the heels of speculation on the matter. Specifically, Tamar Braxton–who used to co-host The Real–has recently been commenting on Jeannie Mai‘s pregnancy through Instagram. Underneath one of Jeannie‘s photos, Tamar Braxton wrote:

“Y’all are pregnant for sure [insert heart emoji] love to see it.”

Additionally, underneath a photo of Jeannie posted to theJasmineBRAND‘s Instagram page, Tamar Braxton commented:

“She’s so pregnant.”

Jeannie Mai‘s pregnancy announcement comes about four years following her split from her ex-husband, Freddy Harteis. We broke the story, and–regarding their relationship–the pair notably faced challenges around the subject of parenthood. Back in 2014, she revealed:

“My husband and I have been married for seven years and when we got married at first, we didn’t want kids. Seven years later now, I see it in him. I see when children are around, I can feel it inside me of what people say that it just hits you. It really does suck. I’m praying about this because it’s a hard one.”
