Big Tigger Teases The Upcoming Return Of ‘Rap City’
It looks like Rap City is making a comeback!
Big Tigger (real name Darian Morgan) recently revealed that Rap City would return to television in the near future. The series originally aired on BET from 1989 to 2008, and it was focused on music videos and interviews with rappers. Another memorable feature of the show was its Rap City Tha Basement segment, which featured rappers–alongside host Big Tigger–freestyling.
Now, it looks like the show is going to make a comeback! Earlier today (Thursday, Sept. 30th), Big Tigger uploaded a photo of himself on a couch alongside numerous pillows adorned with ‘Rap City 21.’ He was also featured alongside a few different items related to rap music–such as an issue of XXL and various cassette albums from the 1990s, like Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt and Dr. Dre’s The Chronic. He captioned the upload:
“This is not a drill… This is not a throwback… #RapCity21!! Details soon… [microphone emojis] #RapCityRaisedMe #ATL.”

He also shared it to his Instagram Story. Additionally, he re-shared a different post made by actress and makeup artist Tyneisha Carter about Rap City. In part, she wrote:
“Stay tuned! Rap City 21.”

As Big Tigger mentioned in his caption, the details have not yet been revealed–though they are allegedly coming soon.
