Will Smith Reveals He Considered Killing His Father: No One Would Ever Believe I Did It On Purpose, My 911 Call Would Be Academy Award Level
Will Smith is really opening up in his new memoir entitled Will. In his new book, the 53-year-old action star shares why he wanted to kill his father, Willard Carrol Smith Sr., to avenge his mother.

Explaining his mindset at the time, Will Smith writes,
“That when I was big enough, when I was strong enough, when I was no longer a coward, I would slay him. I paused at the top of the stairs. I could shove him down, and easily get away with it.”

He continues,
“I’m Will Smith. No one would ever believe I killed my father on purpose. I’m one of the best actors in the world. My 911 call would be Academy Award level. As the decades of pain, anger, and resentment coursed then receded, I shook my head and proceeded to wheel Daddio to the bathroom.”
Smith’s parent’s separated when he was 13 years old and divorced in 2000. His father later passed away in 2016.

In addition to sharing intimate details in his memoir, Will Smith also reveals that he contemplated suicide in his new series, The Best Shape of My Life.
In the trailer, the King Richard star says,
When I started this show, I thought I was getting into the best shape of my life physically, [but] mentally, I was somewhere else, and I ended up discovering a whole lot of hidden things about myself.”
In another scene with his family, he shares,
“That was the only time in my life I ever considered suicide.”
