‘Black Panther’ Sequel Halts Production As Letitia Wright Continues To Recover From On-Set Injury
Production for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will go on a brief hiatus starting later this month.
Back in August, Letitia Wright sustained an injury while filming a scene for the upcoming Black Panther sequel. The 28-year-old actress was treated at a nearby hospital and released shortly after. Sources close to production originally claimed her absence would not impact the filming schedule for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

However, on Friday (Nov. 5th), news broke that production for the highly-anticipated sequel will soon go on a brief hiatus. Reportedly, Letitia Wright is still recovering from her injury in London, and all scenes without her Shuri character have already been captured. As a result, production has decided to shut down starting the week of Thanksgiving and prepare to resume filming the sequel early next year.
Regarding the matter, Letitia Wright‘s representative stated:
“Letitia has been recovering in London since September from injuries sustained on the set of Black Panther 2 and is looking forward to returning to work early 2022. Letitia kindly asks that you keep her in your prayers.”
This update comes shortly after reports that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘s debut had been pushed back to Nov. 2022–four months later than originally anticipated. The film is currently still scheduled for its Nov. 11th, 2022 release date.
