Carl Crawford Seemingly Addresses Ongoing Contract Dispute Against Megan Thee Stallion: Year 3 & I’m Still Battling This Case About Bullsh*T
Carl Crawford is giving out career advice to inspiring CEOs amid his ongoing legal battle against his estranged artist Megan Thee Stallion.
Today (Dec. 9) former professional baseball player turned record label owner Carl Crawford, 40, seemingly addressed his current legal battle with Megan Thee Stallion, 26. The 1501 Certified Entertainment CEO shared via his Instagram page,
“Year 3 and I’m still battling this case about bullsh*t [face palm emoji].”
In the captioned for his cryptic post, he encouraged other people to be careful and learn from what he’s currently going through. He wrote,
“Up and coming indie Bosses and CEO’s pay close attention to this cause this can easily be u one day… They try and drain u with the court systems in hopes of u folding [red 100 emoji].”
Despite their current drama, things between Megan Thee Stallion, born Megan Pete, and Carl Crawford were once good. Megan initially signed to Carl’s independent record label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, in 2018. However, according to reports, when Megan signed a management deal with Roc Nation in 2019 she was alerted by the entertainment company about unusual stipulations within her contract with 1501 Certified.
Megan then sued Carl and his label for allegedly blocking her from releasing music and refusing to renegotiate or terminate the questionable contract. As previously reported, Megan recently received a win in her contract drama when a judge ruled in her favor this past August and cleared her to release a remix of mega k-pop group BTS’ hit song ‘Butter.’
In October of last year, during an interview on the ‘Heavy Live With Scoop B’ show, Carl spoke on his ongoing issues with Megan. He said,
“We’re still contractually together, so of course we want her to do well. You don’t want her to do bad because it’s not going to benefit us if she does bad, you know? So, we want her to do well.”
He added,
“We just want her to honor her contract. That’s the whole big deal behind the situation. They didn’t want to honor her contract but, they wanted to switch a few things and they never talked to me about it; they just sent the lawyers to me and all that stuff so… it was just really one of those deals to where you just – things kind of went left and it’s just unfortunate.”
