O.J. Simpson’s Parole Officially Ends, Making Him A ‘Completely Free’ Man
O.J. Simpson is a free man…seriously, this time.
Former NFL legend O.J. Simpson is officially a free man after wrapping up parole. This comes about 4 years after his release from prison in October 2017.
O.J., 74, didn’t make any statements on the day his freedom went into full effect (Dec. 1), but his lawyer, Malcolm LaVergne, had this to say:
“Mr. Simpson is a completely free man now.”
Since his release, O.J. has resided in Las Vegas, Nevada–the same place he was found guilty on all charges related to a robbery in 2008.
In 2007, O.J. allegedly orchestrated a robbery inside a hotel room at a Las Vegas casino. He–along with a group of men–held the occupants at gunpoint, stealing sports memorabilia. O.J. claimed that he was simply taking the items back after they were stolen from him. The incident led to his conviction the following year. He would serve 9 years in prison.

Prior to the 2008 trial, O.J. was at the center of another infamous trial. He was accused of killing ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her reported friend 25-year-old Ron Goldman, which led to “The Trial of the Century.” Millions watched as O.J. was shockingly found not guilty on all charges.

O.J. Simpson was the first overall draft pick in the 1969 NFL draft, beginning his career with the Buffalo Bills. He was traded to the San Fransisco 49ers in 1978 and retired in 1978. Throughout his career he achieved many firsts in the league, making him one of the greatest players of all time to many.
