Jhene Aiko And Mickey Guyton Receive Official Apology For Name Mixup During Super Bowl Performance
NBC Sports is making amends for their misnaming mishap.
Concluding a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVI, Mickey Guyton was mislabeled as Jhene Aiko – who subsequently performed “America The Beautiful”, live on TV. NBC sports, who hosted this year’s annual football championship game, has issued an official apology to both artists.

Fans of Jhene Aiko and Mickey Guyton were shocked last Sunday when Mickey was misidentified as Jhene Aiko following her performance of the National Anthem. Later that evening, the spokesperson for NBC Sports released an official statement of apology to the two artists via their PR Twitter account.
In the tweet they write:
From NBC Sports spokesperson: “Leading into Jhene Aiko singing ‘America the Beautiful,’ we incorrectly showed Mickey Guyton and misidentified her before showing Aiko’s performance. We apologize to both artists for the error.”
Good thing they got it right before posting Mickey’s performance to their Twitter account. You can watch both ladies performances below.
