Former ‘BasketBall Wives’ Star Royce Reed Surrenders To Police On Child Neglect Charges Involving Son Shared With Dwight Howard
Former “Basketball Wives” star Royce Reed has kept a pretty low profile following her stint on the hit reality show. Now, it looks like the 41-year-old reality star/dancer has found herself in a bit of trouble. According to Radar Online, Royce Reed turned herself into police on Thursday (Mar.10) in Orange County, Fla. and has been charged with neglect of a child, which is a third-degree felony. The case involves her 14-year-old son Braylon, whom she shares with NBA star Dwight Howard, 36.
According to the legal documents, police state Braylon is working on behavioral issues with professionals due to past incidents. Braylon was supposed to follow certain rules set by a judge — specifically, he was not allowed to hang out with kids two years younger than him without an adult present. Braylon is accused of breaking the judge’s rules and it appears Royce is taking on the responsibility.
Reportedly, Royce has cooperated with police and investigators, and allowed law enforcement to interview her son. When asked when was the last time he saw his father, Dwight Howard, Braylon replied,
“when he was in town for a basketball game, which was a while ago.”
He said the last time he was at Howard’s home was
“sometime during the 2020 quarantine.”
On Friday (Mar.11) Royce Reed took to Instagram to clarify some things in this unfortunate situation. She made sure to clarify that she was not arrested but instead, turned herself in.
Royce Reed and Dwight Howard have been going back and forth for years regarding their son, Braylon Howard. There’s been custody fights, garnished wages, attorney issues and more. So it’s safe to say, these two have had a pretty tumultuous co parenting relationship.
Dwight Howard has yet to speak out on the recent matter.
