Family Of 8th Grader Who Fell To His Death From Orlando Thrill Ride Hires Ben Crump As Attorney
A Missouri family recently hired famed attorney Ben Crump after losing their teenage son during a trip to the amusement park.
According to reports, on Thursday (March 24) 14-year-old Tyre Sampson tragically fell to his death from a ride at Orlando’s ICON Park. The 8th grader was in Orlando visiting from Missouri for his Spring Break. The incident occurred while Sampson was riding the Free Fall ride, which stands at 430 feet. Reportedly, it’s the world’s tallest freestanding drop tower. Following the fall, Sampson was transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to the Orange County sheriff’s office.
A witness spoke about the scary situation with the local news station and said when they saw something falling they assumed it was a piece of the ride. However, when they got closer they saw,
“it was a person laying on the ground.”
They added,
“Everyone was just panicking and screaming.”
According to new reports, high power attornies Ben Crump and Bob Hilliard have recently been hired separately by Sampson’s parents to represent them as they pursue legal action for their son’s death. Ben Crump released a statement on the unfortunate event and said,
“This family is shocked and heartbroken at the loss of their son. This young man was the kind of son every parent hopes for — an honor roll student, an aspiring athlete and a kind-hearted person who cared about others. … A fun theme park visit with his football team should not have ended in tragedy.”
Bob Hilliard also spoke about Sampson’s untimely death and said,
“The focus of our investigation is going to be on the training of the staff on the ground who may not have secured Tyre before the ride took off.”
He added,
“The investigation is also going to include the design of the ride itself. There absolutely should be no way a ride can leave the ground if there is any indication that any one of the passengers is not secured.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with Tyre Sampson’s family and loved ones at this time.
