Rappers Asian Doll & Katie Got Bandz Get Into Heated Twitter Exchange Over Who Is The Queen Of Drill Music

Who do you think should be crowned as the “queen of drill” music?

Rappers Asian Doll (aka Asian Da Brat) and Katie Got Bandz recently went back and forth on Twitter over who the official drill titleholder should be. 25-year-old Asian Doll, born Misharron Allen, is a Dallas native rapper who was the first female to sign to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Eskimo Records. Recently she dropped a new drill single that samples Justin Bieber’s song “Baby” and declared herself the “Drill Queen.”

However, it appears everyone isn’t here for Asian Doll’s self-appointed title. Fellow drill rap artist Katie Got Bandz, born Kiara Johnson, is a rising rapper that is affectionately known as “Queen of Drill” due to her reportedly being the first female rapper to influence the drill music scene. The 28-year-old Chicago native initially gained recognition through her 2015 song “Pop-Out.”

The drama between the two rap artists kicked off on Friday (April 8) when they fired off a series of subliminal tweets toward each other in what appears to be an argument that stemmed over who started doing drill music first. The exchange began following a tweet posted by Katie Got Bandz claiming that rap icon Nicki Minaj, 39, sent her an uplifting message about her music. She tweeted,

“I’M SPEECHLESS I WOKE UP TO A MESSAGE FROM @NICKIMINAJ I LOVE YOU QUEEN.”

According to the message, Nicki Minaj was planning on reaching out to Katie Got Bandz when she noticed the “Make Me Rich” rapper had been messaging her since 2017. Nicki Minaj wrote,

“Wow. I would’ve never known you were messaging me since 2017 if I didn’t just try to DM you mama! That’s fkn crazy. Sending my love. Ima listen to the tape you sent too.”

From there, things got a little messy. In a now-deleted repost, Asian Doll shared an alleged old tweet from Katie dating back to 2012 that read,

“Nicki is against us.”

Katie seemingly wasted no time in responding to the reposted tweet. She said,

“FIRST YOU STOLE KASHDOLL NAME NOW YOU THINK YOU COMING FOR THE DRILL QUEEN? D-MN B-TCH DO YOU ORIGINATE ANYTHING?”

Asian Doll replied,

“If you was in my dm for YEARS straight asking for a feature SHUT YO BULL DOG A— UP.”

Katie fired back,

“WAIT B-TCH LET’S NOT F-CK-NG FORGET YOU WERE MENTIONING ME WHEN YOU STARTED RAPPING AFTER ME IN INTERVIEWS AND DM ME SAYING YOU WERE DYING TO DO A SONG WITH ME SINCE FOREVER BRO.”

After roughly an hour of the exchange, Coi Leray, 24, chimed in and tried to get the two “trendsetters” to calm down.

Nicki Minaj isn’t the only popular rapper that’s recently given Katie Got Bandz her props.

Before she deleted her own Twitter account last week, New York rapper Cardi B acknowledged the Illinois rapper as the first female she ever saw doing drill music. Katie Got Bandz replied,

Both Asian Da Brat and Katie Got Bandz currently claim to be the queen of drill in their bios on Instagram.

It doesn’t look like Asian Doll nor Katie Got Bandz will be letting up anytime soon.
