Kim Kardashian Scores Small Win W/ Judge Tossing Out Blac Chyna’s Defamation Claim, Jury Deliberates On Remaining Allegations
It looks like Kim Kardashian scored a small win when a judge tossed out Blac Chyna’s defamation claim against the reality star and business mogul. The jury still has to deliberate on the remaining claims.
According to reports, Judge Gregory Alarcon recently threw out the defamation claim against Kim Kardashian – which Chyna was asking for $40 million – however, Blac Chyna’s contract interference claims against the SKIMS owner is still in play. In addition to that, a ruling has yet to be given on the defamation and contract interference claims Blac Chyna brought against Kris Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner, all of whom have testified over the past week.

As previously reported, Blac Chyna, 33, is currently suing the Kardashians, for allegedly getting her spin-off show canceled back in 2017. According to the lawsuit, the E! network had already given the go-ahead to film season two of the reality series that starred Chyna and her then-fiancé Rob Kardashian. However, Chyna claims that the famed family didn’t like her, and plotted together to get her show canceled.
On Friday (Apr.29), Judge Gregory Alarcon ruled that Chyna’s attorney, Lynne Ciani, did not provide any statement during the trial that proved Kim Kardashian was defamatory toward Blac Chyna. During closing arguments on Thursday (Apr.28), Ciani reportedly argued that the women had no reason to believe the physical attack against Rob Kardashian had occurred, as testimony, photos, and video from the time showed no significant injuries to Rob Kardashian. Ciani said,
“He didn’t have a mark on him. There was no call to the police, no trip to the hospital, not even a Band-Aid.”
On the contrary, the Kardashians’ lawyer, Michael G. Rhodes argued during his closing that the women had every reason to believe the details of the attack from Rob Kardashian and from Kris Jenner’s longtime boyfriend Corey Gamble, who allegedly broke up the volatile argument in December 2016 and was a key defense witness.

During closing arguments, Rhodes said,
“Do you remember how Rob looked on the stand yesterday? His pain was real. This is a real family… Yeah, they’re famous, but they’re real people. He got really badly hurt here.”
With Kim Kardashian’s defamation claim tossed out, the jury will still need to determine whether Kris Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner intentionally lied about Blac Chyna abusing Rob Kardashian, as well as determine whether the Kardashian/Jenner women illegally interfered with Chyna’s contract at E!
The jury is currently deliberating on the case. Friday marked the first full day of deliberation, and the jury is set to return to court on Monday (May 2) morning.
