42 Dugg Arrested By Federal Agents For Allegedly Failing To Surrender & Serve Prison Sentence
According to reports, 42 Dugg (real name Dion Hayes) failed to report to a federal prison camp last month in West Virginia to serve a six-month prison sentence. He initially was charged for illegally possessing a firearm, however, he now faces an absconding charge punishable by up to five years in prison. Reportedly, the 27-year-old rapper was arrested early Wednesday (May 4) in Detroit after arriving in a private jet from Memphis, Tenn.
Dugg’s lawyer, Steve Scharg said,
“He got off the plane and they were waiting there to greet him.”

This arrest follows a string of legal troubles for 42 Dugg. In 2019, federal agents received an anonymous tip that the “We Paid” rapper fired a weapon inside a gun range in Atlanta. In March 2020, he was arrested on federal gun charges for possessing a gun as a felon. Reportedly, he was apprehended again in August 2020 for evading police just two months prior.
His lawyer successfully kept the rapper out of jail amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and he was instead sentenced to three years of probation. However, court officials later threatened to revoke his probation after he tested positive for unspecified drugs, and in response he filed an appeal. His probation was revoked in February, and he was sentenced to six months behind bars followed by two years of probation.
According to reports, a Detroit judge granted bond to the rapper, however, 42 Dugg will not be released. Instead, he is being transferred to Georgia and is expected to start serving the six-month sentence.
