Recently, the Pivot podcast, hosted by former NFL stars, Channing Crowder, Fred Taylor, and Ryan Clark, interviewed Denver Broncos star Patrick Surtain II and his father, former NFL cornerback Patrick Surtain. During the chat, Channing Crowder questioned Patrick Surtain II about his friendship with his teammate Russell Wilson, Broncos’ quarterback.

Patrick Surtain II

Patrick Surtain II said:

“Russ my guy, like he come in, he come to work. He’s like one of those dudes you could talk to ‘cause you know he a vet. Think it’s like 12-13 years. He be playing R&B in the locker room.”

Crowder interrupts:

“He play R&B ain’t it?”

Crowder’s co-host’s hysterically laughed. Patrick continued:

“He just a cool guy.”

Crowder asked:

“Playing some Ciara?”

Ryan Clark, 42, added:

“My goodies.”

Crowder continued:

“I like my goodies too.”

Ryan Clark asked:

““Like A Boy” was a good song? “Like A Man?” Was it “Like A Boy?” “Like A Man?”

Crowder admitted:

“I don’t know what it was like but yeah we wasn’t doing R&B in the locker room.”

Ryan Clark said:

“But R&B is soothing Channing.”

Crowder elaborated:

“I don’t wanna be soothed. I’m about to go fight a big m*th*r f*ck*r tryna hit me in the head.”

Patrick, 22, informed the hosts:

“That’s just his personality though. He cool, calm, collective. Show us the way everyday, tremendous leader, gets the guys going but you know, that’s just the type of guy he is. Cool, calm, laid back, chill.”

Crowder recalled:

“I don’t know I been criticized a lot. I called the man “lame” called the man a “square” you know what I’m saying?”

Patrick interrupted:

“Yeah they got on you about that.”

Crowder continued:

“Yeah they got on me ‘bout that but-”

Patrick asked:

“Did you take it back?”

Crowder said:

“No I’m not taking it back Pat. Pat, it is so subjective. It’s an opinion. I know dudes that I wanna hang with. I grew up in Atlanta and I know guys I wanna hang with. I don’t wanna hang with Russ.”

Crowder explained:

“‘Cause he put mousse in his hair, he slick it sideways. He just, he ain’t my type of dude. I fool with dudes like your daddy. That’s the man I wanna hang with. I don’t wanna hang with Russ. I wanna hang with RC, I wanna hang with Freddy. You on the edge ‘cause I just hung with you as a grown man, I gotta see what your grown man attitude is.”

Patrick asked:

“But how you know that if you never hung out with Russ?”

Crowder assured Patrick:

“I can tell Pat. I can just look at a dude from afar and tell. I just see how he gets out a car. If he don’t even slam his feet. He don’t slam his feet to get out a car, he rolls his heels to get out a car. I don’t fool with you.”

As previously reported, Crowder faced backlash following his comments about Russell Wilson, 33,  and his wife Ciara on his podcast. The 38-year-old said:

“Yeah, if Russ ain’t have that bread, Ciara ain’t gon’ be with him. Russ a square!”

Following his comments, Crowder was asked in an interview with The Breakfast Club if he regrets his comments about Wilson. He admitted:

“Not at all. Not one bit.”

He added:

“Bringing up Ciara, bringing up the man’s family, I’ll take that back. But, have y’all seen Russell’s video’s?…[The] goofty sh*t?….I didn’t call him an alcoholic. I didn’t call him a deadbeat dad. I didn’t call him a pedophile, I called him lame!”
