Jennifer Hough’s Lawyer Slams Video Where She Seemingly Admits She Wanted To Drop Sexual Assult Charges Against Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty, Says It Was ‘Heavily Edited’
The legal issues surrounding Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty lives to see another day.
The lawyer representing the woman who accused Nicki Minaj’s husband of attempting to rape her when she was a teenager is shooting down the video that’s circulating online where she allegedly said she wanted to drop the charges.
Jennifer Hough‘s lawyer, Tyrone A. Blackburn, told Radar that the now viral video clip in which she allegedly told Kenneth Petty‘s friend that she was “pressured” into moving forward with the case is “heavily edited.” Blackburn explained,
“This heavily edited video conversation with Jennifer and Black (the same man that threatened her life on IG live) does not deserve a comment. Ask that rapist to explain the transcript from his plea hearing where he admitted to attempting to rape Jennifer with a knife at his grandmother’s house.”
“Not only do we have the plea hearing transcript we are in the process of getting over 200 pieces of evidence and video from the 1994/95 rape case..Stay Tuned!”
“Your honor, I’m the person who pressed the charges. I would like to drop the charges. I made a huge mistake.”
Hough alleged the judge told her to
“take it to the D.A.,” but “nobody wanted to hear sh*t.”
When the friend asked what she wrote in the letter to the D.A., Hough didn’t hold back. She replied,
“That I was pressured to press charges against him and that I wanted to drop the charges. I didn’t want him to go to jail. I was young! I was 16.”
After Petty’s friend reiterated to Hough that she recanted her story and the alleged assault never happened, she nodded and said, “yep.”

As previously reported, Jennifer Hough went on The Real last year and got emotional while telling her horrific story about the alleged rape.
“All I could do was hold my pants as tight as I can. I didn’t know why it didn’t dawn on me to like really fight. I just held on to my pants and he held my arms down and squeezed the sides of my stomach so hard. I let go and as soon as I let go he grabbed my pants. It was like a tug of war and after a while I just got tired.”
While on The Real, she revealed that she had been receiving hateful backlash over her statements.
Jennifer Houghstated:
“In March of 2020 [Nicki Minaj] called me and she said that she got word that I was willing to help them out in a situation that I didn’t understand what she was referring to. She offered to fly me and my family to L.A. I turned it down and I told her ‘Woman to woman, this really happened.’ And I hadn’t spoken to her since.”
Co-host Garcelle Beauvaisasked Jennifer Hough how exactly Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty had allegedly been harassing her. Jennifer explained:
“With them sending people to negotiate numbers as far as money is concerned with family members. Nicki is the one who personally reached out to me. You know, in regards to helping her–helping them in this situation. And then the threats that I received because I kept saying no to every offer [and] to every suggestion. The last incident was when one of their associates put $20,000 on my lap, and I still kept saying no. The last message I received was that I should have taken the money because they’re gonna use that money to put on my head.”
Hough sued Minaj and Petty for $20 million, accusing the couple of harassment, intimidation, and infliction of emotional distress. She claimed they went on a campaign to convince her to recant her accusations by offering her $500k and sending their associates to her home to intimidate her. Hough later dropped her lawsuit against Nicki Minaj but not Kenneth Petty.
