50 Cent Shares Eminem Declined $9 Million World Cup Collaboration Performance

50 Cent Shares Eminem Declined $9 Million World Cup Collaboration Performance
50 Cent could’ve been a few million dollars richer if it wasn’t for Eminem.
In a recent interview with famed media personality Big Boy, rapper 50 Cent said he and Eminem were offered a total of $9 million to collaboratively perform at the Qatar-hosted FIFA World Cup, but Eminem didn’t want to do it. 50 Cent shared:
“Because of the Super Bowl, I got an inquiry about World Cup and they had a budget of $9 million.”
As you may recall, last year 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson III, teamed up with Eminem, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, to perform at the Super Bowl. While speaking on how he would have split the $9 million offer with Eminem, 50 Cent said:
“I would’ve taken one [million] and then the other eight million would have been for him.”

However, the “I Get Money” rapper had a conversation with Eminem’s team about the joint performance and learned his friend had no interest in the gig. He claimed:
“They’re like, ‘he’s not gonna do it.'”
He added:
“If you would do a one-off show, maybe you would do the biggest live sporting event in the world.”
It’s unclear why the “8 Mile” actor rapper declined to perform with 50 Cent for another sporting event. However, during this time, Qatar faced a lot of controversy around the World Cup for its systemic discrimination against women and the LGBTQ+ community. The country was also frowned upon for the reported deaths of 37 migrant workers who helped construct the stadiums where the games were held.

Despite their disagreement when it came to the performance, 50 Cent has a huge opportunity in store for his rap pal. As previously reported, amid his interview with Big Boy, the rapper-turned-television-executive revealed that he is creating an “8 Mile” TV series. He said:
“I’m gonna bring [Eminem’s] ‘8 Mile’ to television…We in motion.”
The 47-year-old added:
“It’s gonna be big. I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I’m batting 100.”
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that the 2002 film stars Eminem, born Marshall Mathers III. He portrays an aspiring rapper named Jimmy (aka B-Rabbit). The film debuted with $51,240,555 in its opening weekend, the second-highest opening for an R-rated movie in the U.S.
