50 Cent Apologizes To Megan Thee Stallion For Implying She Was Lying About Tory Lanez Shooting
50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) is doing something he doesn’t usually do — apologizing.
The rapper and businessman expressed regret to Megan Thee Stallion (real name Megan Pete) during an interview on Big Boy TV for sharing a meme during the Tory Lanez trial in which she morphed into Jussie Smollett, seemingly implying that the “Plan B” rapper was lying about the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident.
50 Cent said,
“I’m gonna apologize to Megan Thee Stallion. I said some things, and it was because… On social media I posted things that—when she was with Gayle [King]—she said, ‘Were you intimate with Tory Lanez?’ And she said, ‘What?’ and it was like, ‘No.’ And I was like, ‘Ah, she lying.’ At that point I knew she was lying, it wouldn’t be no reason for them to be around each other. From that it felt like she was lying, to me.”
50 Cent said he “wasn’t being supportive” of Megan Thee Stallion and that, after hearing leaked recordings from an alleged phone call Tory Lanez made to Kelsey Harris while in jail, he felt obligated to apologize. The Power franchise and BMF CEO added,
“I should apologize to her, because when I heard the phone conversation… That made me feel like, ‘Oh sh*t. ‘Now I know what happened.’ I’m sure that was probably what swayed people in court, too.”
The actor Jussie Smollett staged a hate crime against himself in Chicago, and in Dec. 2021, he was found guilty on five counts of felony disorderly conduct for doing so. He subsequently received a 150-day prison sentence.

As previously reported, a jury found Tory Lanez (real name Daystar Peterson), guilty on all counts of three felony charges — assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence — for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in her feet in 2020. The Canadian artist reportedly fired shots at his former friend as she walked away from an SUV they had been in with Kelsey Nicole Harris following a party at Kylie Jenner‘s home.
In 2020, after sharing an insensitive meme soon after reports that Megan Thee Stallion had been shot twice in the foot, 50 also apologized to her via Instagram for the same offense. The meme depicted Megan Thee Stallion’s face on a screenshot of a popular scene from the 1991 urban classic Boyz N The Hood movie.

50 said,
“Damn I didn’t think this sh*t was real. It sounded so crazy @theestallion i’m glad your feeling better and i hope you can accept my apology. I posted a meme that was floating around. I wouldn’t have done that if i knew you was really hurt sorry.”
