Eddie Murphy Recalls Late Singer Michael Jackson Was So ‘Shy’ During A Party That He Hid Behind A Door
Eddie Murphy is taking a trip down memory lane.
During a recent appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ Eddie Murphy recalled a time when Michael Jackson was so shy at a party at Sammy Davis Jr.’s house that he hid behind a door.
Jimmy Kimmel asked the comedian if it was true that he watched the movie ‘Cocoon’ with Sammy Davis Jr. at his house. Eddie explained that Sammy would often have movie night at his house and several celebrities would attend.
” I wasn’t the only one there. Sammy would have movie night on Tuesday night and you would go there and all the stars–like I saw Steve and Eydie Gorme, Lucille Ball, and you know Michael [Jackson] would be there…”

He then told a funny story about Michael Jackson hiding because there were too many people at Sammy’s house.
“He was behind the door at first because it was too many people..”
He continued,
“It was too many people in the room. He was hiding behind the door. He said, ‘Eddie, come!'”
Michael then called on Eddie to join him behind the door, where the comedian then said,
“What the f**k, yo?”
Eddie was appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week in order to promote his upcoming movie, You People. Alongside Murphy, the film stars, Nia Long, Lauren London, and Jonah Hill. The film follows an interracial couple and their families as they tackle modern love amid culture clashes, societal expectations and generational differences.
