Tisha Campbell Shares Why She Chose To Help Gabrielle Union Early On In Her Career By Paying For Her Therapy: I Want Her To Win, I Want My Sisters To Win
Gabrielle Union has a lot of people rooting for her success, including fellow actress Tisha Campbell.
Recently, the “Martin” star appeared as a guest on “The View” where series co-host Whoopi Goldberg, 67, reflected on Gabrielle Union’s past appearance on the daytime talk show. During her time being interviewed by “The View” ladies, Gabrielle Union, 50, revealed that Tisha Campbell, 54, was a huge help early on in her career. The “Bring It On” star shared:
“I was lucky to come up with some OGs that were very transparent and they were very honest and they were not interested in watching me fail or flail.”

Union continued:
“They always stepped in with the truth and with the transparency of their lives and that’s how they put me on.
She added:
“Tisha Campbell paid for therapy for me. That was not covered by Sag Insurance by the way, out of pocket, like 10 sessions. That’s the one who really has your back.”

Earlier this week Tisha Campbell explained why she chose to give Union the nice gesture. She said:
“It’s funny ‘cause I didn’t even think she would remember, It was just a moment in time for us and I was like ‘please just take this gift. I want you to have it,’ because I want her to win. I want my sisters to win.”
Campbell continued:
“I want us all to win. There’s so many pitfalls, there’s so many things. The fame monsters is an ugly ugly thing that one can get addicted to. I really really wanted her to be okay, not that anything was wrong. It’s just that I wanted her to be supported.”
Before admitting that she cried while watching Union reminisce on that special moment, Campbell said:
“I just want us to win. It’s not a competition. I compete with myself. It is a support system that I wanted her to have.”
