Quavo Opens Up About Takeoff’s Death, Says He Sometimes Cries Himself To Sleep: ‘I Think About Him All The Time’
Quavo is still grieving the loss of his nephew and bandmate Takeoff.
On Thursday (July 27), Quavo released a video promoting his new project, Rocket Power. In the black-and-white video, the Migos rapper explained the significance of his upcoming LP. Quavo then became candid about the impact Takeoff’s death has had on him.
Quavo wanted his fans to know that he has not forgotten about his late nephew and that he will always be in his heart.
He said,
“I miss him a lot. And I love him, he know I love him. That’s what we always know, so when you see me and see me smiling, you don’t gotta never think I forgot about him or I forget about him. I think about him all the time. Sometimes I cry myself to sleep.”

As previously reported, Takeoff was tragically murdered in Houston, Texas on November 1, 2022. Reports said the shooting followed an alleged argument that ensued after a dice game. In May of this year, a man by the name of Patrick Clark was officially indicted by a Harris County grand jury for the murder of Takeoff.

Last month, Migos’ Offset and Quavo reunited to pay tribute to their late group mate. The rappers took the stage in a surprise performance at this year’s BET Awards. This marked the duo’s first performance since they disbanded their group after releasing their fourth and final studio album Culture III in 2021.

On July 21, Quavo dropped a trailer for Rocket Power on YouTube. He also released a preview of the visual on his Instagram with a heartfelt message about what this project means to him.
He wrote,
“This Album Is Embodying All My Emotions. Through the process of healing, I’ve learned to turn tragedy into triumph. I had to dig deep into my purpose and find the power to keep striving. To my fans, thanks for being patient with me and supporting Us. To my FAMILY, even when times get hard we know our MAIN mission is to keep the Rocket name ALIVE.”
